Inclusive Hiring Policy
Effective date: 4 May 2026
Owner: Antonio Modesto / CFO
1. Purpose and scope of application
Antica Erboristeria S.p.A. SB is committed to ensuring a fair, inclusive and meritocratic selection and hiring process, reducing the risk that bias and irrelevant practices may affect the evaluation of candidates.
This policy applies to all stages of recruitment managed internally or through external providers, such as role definition, job posting, CV screening, interviews, final decision, offer and onboarding.
2. Guiding principles
Antica Erboristeria S.p.A. SB is committed to:
- Evaluating applications on the basis of skills, experience, potential and role requirements;
- Promoting equal opportunities and not tolerating direct or indirect discrimination;
- Adopting tools and measures to prevent and mitigate bias in the selection process;
- Ensuring that job adverts and job descriptions are written with inclusive language and requirements.
3. Compliance requirements
Antica Erboristeria S.p.A. SB includes a JEDI commitment statement in all internal and external job adverts, as outlined below:
“Antica Erboristeria S.p.A. SB promotes a fair and inclusive working environment. We evaluate applications exclusively on the basis of skills, experience and motivation, guaranteeing equal opportunities for all people, without discrimination.”
Furthermore, during the application and selection process, Antica Erboristeria S.p.A. SB does not request or carry out:
- Credit checks;
- Criminal record checks or checks on previous criminal convictions
Unless such checks are required by law for the specific position/role, or required by an industry association or competent regulatory authority.
Any exception must be documented (reason + legal/regulatory reference) and approved by HR before requesting information from the candidate. Even in the case of an exception, Antica Erboristeria S.p.A. SB requests only the strictly necessary information and does so in ways that respect privacy.
4. Guidelines
Antica Erboristeria S.p.A. SB adopts the following measures to reduce prejudice or its impact in hiring processes:
- Requirements and evaluation criteria defined before the opening of the selection process: HR and the Hiring Manager define essential skills, preferred skills, evaluation criteria and non-negotiable elements.
- Structured interviews: Use of a consistent set of questions and criteria to compare applications on a like-for-like basis.
- Evidence-based evaluation: Decisions must be justified in relation to the criteria of the role.
- Involvement of multiple evaluators where possible: at least HR + Hiring Manager; for higher-impact roles, a third evaluator or panel.
- Training and awareness: Antica Erboristeria S.p.A. SB promotes awareness sessions on bias and fair selection for those taking part in interviews (e.g. unconscious bias, prohibited questions, inclusive language).
- Responsible use of digital/AI tools (if used): If automated screening tools are used, HR verifies that the criteria are relevant and do not introduce discrimination.
5. Requirements and language of job descriptions for inclusivity and equity
Antica Erboristeria S.p.A. SB is committed to analysing job adverts and job descriptions to ensure that they are inclusive and fair, paying particular attention to:
- Clear, non-stereotyped, non-discriminatory language;
- Essential requirements separated from preferred requirements;
- Absence of references not relevant to the advert (age, marital status, pregnancy, care responsibilities, etc.)
- Concrete descriptions of responsibilities and skills;
- Inclusion of any indications regarding flexibility/work organisation, where relevant.
6. Approval and transparency
This Policy has been formally approved and will be reviewed every three years. In order to ensure maximum transparency towards our stakeholders, the document is published permanently on the official website of Antica Erboristeria S.p.A. SB.
